Sclerotherapy

We treat spider, reticular, and larger, often more painful, varicose veins by means of sclerotherapy. Dr. Blom injects a medication called Tromboject into the veins, which acts a glue and shuts veins down. 2-5 treatment sessions are usually required. Downtime is minimal after treating spider and reticular veins, and most patients can return to normal routines within 2 days after treating larger varicose veins. Almost 80% of veins will improve completely, but new veins may form again or in areas close by, needing repeat treatment within a few years.

We also offer Sigvaris compression stockings for sale for the prevention and treatment of varicose veins, as well as post-treatment support.

Vasculaze

The ultimate non-invasive vascular light therapy solution for spider veins.

Vasculaze can alleviate and improve a wide variety of facial and leg veins with an intense pulsed light that is targeted to treat blood vessels. Vasculaze has a specially designed head that is built to pinpoint veins or a vein network, making treatments precise and safe.

Pulses of light are sent onto the vein, which makes the vein contract, slowly fade and disappear, preventing the need for unpleasant incisions or injections with chemical sclerotherapy.

Typically 3 treatment sessions are required, however, some lesions may require more. Gradual improvements in the treatment area can be seen following the first treatment, with the skin’s surface looking clearer as time passes between sessions.

No downtime is needed after treatment sessions, and the skin is not broken or blistered with the light therapy. Treatment is almost pain-free and causes a warm sensation or “snap’ as the vein is targeted. Clients will need an assessment of their vascular lesions. The recommended types of vascular veins to treat are red, purple or blue and include: facial veins, port wine stains, strawberry nevi, spider veins on legs, telangiectasias, and angiomas.

Varicose veins on legs are typically larger, wider, and “greener”, and are not suitable for our Vasculaze light therapy.
